The Bomboulder is a monster in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Bomboulders are reddish animated boulders known for casting Kerplunk to fully revive their fellow monsters. However, they spend just as much time in battle watching and waiting, occasionally stopping to build up their strength or launch themselves at an opponent while cackling. Occasionally, the bomboulder will be more of a magenta colour, such as in Dragon Quest VII. In the Nintendo DS remakes of the Zenithia trilogy, bomboulders are further distinguished from rockbombs by having a full grin instead of gaped teeth. Bomboulders are the second monster in the series capable of casting Kerplunk to revive other monsters, with Beelzebuzz from the previous game having the distinction of being the first.

Bomboulder appeared from the beginning of the game. As always, they are able to cast Kerplunk and have the ability to land desperate attacks, but are also just as likely to waste their turn grinning maliciously.
