The Knocktopus is a monster that appears in Dragon Quest IX. It is an octopus capable of shooting out sharp spikes from its enormous head.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Knocktopuses are red-skinned cephalopods with spikes coming out of their large heads. They are roughly the size of adult humans and walk about on their eight arms, which have pale purple suckers. The octopuses attack by spinning rapidly and slashing with their spikes, which they can also unleash in barrages at adventurers. They can also release spurts of jet-black ink from their beaks which can envelop opponents in illusions. The spikes from their heads are a valuable material for use in alchemy.
