Castle Town Gotha Japanese グランバニア Romaji Game Dragon Quest V

Gotha (グランバニア, Guranbania, also romanized as Granvania, Glanvania, or Granbania) is a both a castle town and a kingdom in Enix's Dragon Quest V. The castle is surrounded by thick forests and impassable mountains and is located south of a lake which empties into the ocean.

Gotha is the home town of Pankraz, and therefore the home town of the hero as well. During the second era of Dragon Quest V, the hero returns to Gotha and claims the throne.

Each King of Gotha must pass a trial in the nearby Riteof Passage to prove their worth before they are allowed to ascend the throne. Gotha's monarchs include Pankraz and the hero from Dragon Quest V.
