The Knight Aberrant is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, introduced in the original Dragon Quest. It is an axe-wielding, armor-clad knight capable of putting enemies to sleep with its magic.
Knight aberrants are humanoid knights armored from head to top in grey and dark purple armor with lavender sabatons, gauntlets, a lavender gem on their belts, and a tall lavender plume on their helmets.
They wield axes in their right hands and a round shield in the same color as the armor with gold in the center, though in some games they forgo using their shields. Compared to their blue-armored brothers, the knight aberrant are deadlier due to their ability to cast Snooze in battle instead of Fizzle.
A Mad Knight is the boss of Bazaar Gate, the last room of which is a recreation of the section of Damdara the monster was originally found. It is a strong opponent that will desire to join the part after being defeated.
Nightmarish knights whose eyes shine with a ghostly glow. They sold their souls to gain supernatural strength. One once lurked in a deserted city, guarding a sacred sword. Was he acting alone, or on the Dragonlord's orders?
Knight aberrant appears as a B-rank monster of the Demon family that can be scouted normally from any banner. It can participate in Dracky's Battle Road, as well as the Dragon Quest I event Battle Road.
An Axe knight appears in Episode 23 "Trojan Dragon". It appeared in a cave guarding both the Flame sword and the Silver shield, only to lose both of them to Captain N. Axe knight is the only other character besides the Dragonlord, Blue dragon and Slimes that appeared in the series. Axe knight is immune to the Zapper, while dodged due to Kevin's use of the pause button on his Power Pad.

Trivia
The monster's field notes from Dragon Quest Heroes II are partially incorrect when they refer to the knight aberrant miniboss in Dragon Quest I. The monster is guarding Erdrick's armour, not Erdrick's sword.
