Freezing fogs are anthropomorphic ice clouds with cartoonish faces, coloured in various shades of blue. In some games, they are dark blue like storm clouds and have yellow eyes. It floats over the battlefield and attacks by breathing out icy breath of varying intensity. Their description in various games state that freezing fogs attack travelers at the peaks of snowy mountains, leaving them frozen solid. The Freezing fog's English name is a type of meteorological phenomenon that occurs when liquid fog droplets freeze to surfaces, forming rime. It is common on mountaintops that are exposed to low clouds. Its Japanese name, Frost Gizmo (フロストギズモ,Furosto gizumo?) is derived from Gaseous Lifeform Gizmo (ガス状生物ギズモ,Gasu-jō seibutsu gizumo?), a science-fiction story originally known as War with the Gizmos, written by American writer Murray Leinster, which was published in Japan in 1969.
Freezing fog appeared from the beginning of the game. They are able to cast Crackle and breathe out Freezing Blizzard, but also have a tendency to flee when threatened.
