Wing-Clipper is a recurring ability in the series. It deals 25% more damage to enemies of the Bird family and assorted "floating" enemies, making it slightly inferior to Flying Knee

In the PS1 version, BirdSlash is a hybrid skill that is learned by reaching rank 5 as a Mariner or Warrior immediately after completing the other. In the 3DS version, Wing-Clipper is no longer a hybrid skill and is instead learned by advancing to rank 6 of the Warrior vocation. The following is an incomplete list of affected enemies:

Dragon Quest Monsters
Called BirdBlow in this game, it requires the monster to reach level 12 with 62 HP, 68 attack and 72 agility. It is naturally learned by many different monsters, including Archdemon, BoneSlave, Durran, MadGopher, Orc, and Skeletor.
