The Crabid is a monster in the series.

Characteristics

Crabids are crab monsters with a red carapace and yellow on its underside, arms, and legs. They have large eyes and even larger, gaping mouths lined with pointed teeth. A trail of drool can be seen on their lower jaw, owing to the disease half of their namesake. The monstrous crustaceans can quickly overwhelm novice adventurers by calling for aid from more of their kind.

Crabid appeared from the beginning of the game. They maintain their familiar ability to call for backup from other crabids, protect themselves by defending, and will flee when threatened. Starting with Version 5.0, vicious crabids can be encountered in the Netherworld. They will still call for backup and defend themselves, but no longer flee.
