The Scale armour has a Defence bonus of +15 and can be equipped by the Hero, the Hero's son, Harry, Tuppence, Slime knight, Restless armour, Blizzybody, Warhog, Conkuistador, Pip fighter, Moosifer, Mudraker, Magic marionette, Wax murderer, Golem, Samigina, Hawk man, Mandrake marshal, Hyperanemon, Walking corpse, and Rockbomb.
It can only be purchased in Faerie Lea during the hero's childhood for 350 gold and sold for 175 gold.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]
The Scale armour has a Defence bonus of +15, a Style bonus of +9, and can be equipped by the Hero, Carver, Nevan, Amos, Terry, Lizzie, and Goowain. It can be purchased from Haggleton, Somnia of the Upper World, and Port Haven for 350 gold coins and sold for 262 gold.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The Scale armour has a Defence bonus of +15, a Style bonus of +9, and can be equipped by the Hero, Kiefer, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. It can be purchased from Emberdale in the present, L'Arca in the past, and Frobisher for 450 gold and sold for 225 gold. Some suits of scale armour can be found in Faraday Castle* in the present and the Tunnel to the Abbey.

The Scale armour has a Defence bonus of +17 and can be equipped by the Hero and Angelo, as well as Morrie in the Nintendo 3DS version. It can be purchased from Alexandria, Port Prospect, and Peregrin Quay for 350 gold and sold for 175 gold. The armour can also be dropped by Heligators, Crocodogs, and Mermen. It can be made in the Alchemy Pot.
