Steropes

Steropes (ギガンツ, Gigantsu^?, lit. Gigants) is an infamous monster available in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.

It can form the teams Club Club with two other club-wielding monsters, Far From Heaven with two other monsters from the Demon family, or Two Eyes with his brother Brontes.

Location

The Gigantes Gangster (あらくれギガンテス, Arakure Gigantesu^?, lit. Roughneck Gigantes) can be found on the Unnamed Isle to the west of Princess Minnie's Castle. The player must have completed Rank B of the Monster Arena at Morrie's Place for him to appear.

Trivia

• Steropes takes his name from the cyclops blacksmith, one of the sons of Uranus and Gaia.
• In the original Japanese, the word Arakure (あらくれ) is used to refer to the recurring toughie NPCs seen throughout the series.
