Map of locations only accessible by Godbirds Soulstone. (circled in red)

The Untrodden Groves refer to all areas of land in Dragon Quest VIII that are non-accessible by walking or ship, but only by flight with the Godbird's soulstone.

In the game itself, they are referred to as Areas Accessible by Air (翼を持つ者の場所, Tsubasa o motsu mono no basho?, lit. Place for Those with Wings). These locations include Tryan Gully, Slime Hill, and many other raised lands near-by well-known towns. These places can be distinguished in midair by a thick cover of clouds in the sky.

High place south of Empycchu[edit | edit source]

Egeus' Tablet[edit | edit source]

A high hill found to the east of Farebury. After Rhapthorne had been sealed away, Egeus of the Seven Sages spent the rest of his days here, where he was accompanied by friendly monsters. Before his death, he left behind a stone tablet foretelling the inevitable return of the Lord of Darkness as well as the identities of the Seven Sages' descendants.
