The Wrecktor is a monster in the series.

The wrecktor is a recurring monster in the DQSeries. Its name is a pun based on the words "wreck" and "rector". There are two other humanoid monsters that share this name:
Characteristics
Wrecktors are high-ranking humanoid priests that serve evil and worship demons. They often have the ability to cast powerful spells such as Kaboom and Kazing. Much like other humanoid spellcasters in the series, some were formerly men who were allured by the power of evil magic. It is perhaps the monster whose design has changed the most over the series history. In Dragon Quest II, they wear white robes emblazoned with the black bat of the Children of Hargon on the front and wield a pair of morningstars. They also wear long purple cloaks, green gloves, and masks with purple horns and a purple gemstone where their eyes should be.

*Wrecktor from V, which look identical except they lack the horns.
When they returned in Dragon Quest V, their masks no longer had horns, while their cloaks and the insignia on their robes are red. The ends of their sleeves have a red and pink triangular pattern. Their gloves and the gems on their masks are lime green. The colour scheme would be used for most appearances. Starting with some spinoff appearances like Torneko: The Last Hope and Battle Road, their masks would gain red horns, as well. This design would be used when the wrecktor returned in Dragon Quest X.
*Wrecktor from VII. They look much like wrecktors do in II, however they have a green cape and wield a magic wand instead of two morningstars. This variant also appears in DQMCH.

In addition the recurring wrecktor has used two designs over the series' history, wearing a purple robe in it's debut appearance and keeping the colour through the Joker duo before switching to scarlet for it's return to the mainline games in X.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker introduced a new design that used the purple horns and cloaks of their original colour scheme, but no longer carried their spiked maces. They have their hands outstretched ready to cast spells. This was due to the monster sharing animations with the Fallen priest. When they attack, the wrecktors reveal that they carry their morningstars hidden in their maces, much like the priests' scythes.
Characteristics
In Dragon Quest II, the wrecktor is a wicked wizard dressed in a white robe with a long purple cape, the front of which is emblazoned with the black bat of the Children of Hargon. It wears green gloves and their mask has purple horns and a singular purple gemstone where their eyes should be. They cast sizzling strong fire spells to wreak havoc in battle. It is ridiculously strong when first encountered and, in many instances, is an optional MFamilies that the player can fight. After defeated, the wrecktor may drop the lightning staff, a staff that casts Sizzle in battle.

Like many other humanoid MFamiliess in the series, the wrecktor is now depicted with five fingers on their hands instead of four in most modern appearances. In their new design, the masks and capes of the mages are now red and their gloves and the gemstone on their masks are lime green.
Like many other humanoid monsters in the series, the wrecktor is typically depicted with five fingers on their hands instead of four in most modern appearances. Its name is a pun based on the words "wreck" and "rector", a cleric that is in charge of a parish or that serves an administrative office in certain Christian denominations.

*In the original NES version of the game, Mace Masters only showed up as random encounters on the third floor of the Hall of Hargon. In the remakes, they can still be encountered there, but one also guards the Lightning staff in Lorasia Castle, which was previously guarded by the Whackolyte in the NES version. They are much stronger than whackolytes, making the staff more difficult to acquire in the remakes.

Wrecktor appeared from the beginning of the game, this time actually being ranked below Whackolytes for the first time. They are able to cast Boom, Bounce, and Kazing, as well as being able to summon a swarm of bats when they are enraged. Starting with Version 5.3, Vicious whackolytes can be encountered in the Netherworld, their bat swarm becoming stronger and now having the ability to cast Kaboom.

Moonbrooke
Stub
In Moonbrooke, The Wrecktor is a hidden antagonist that shows up towards the end of its story arc, when the Moonbrooke Brigade of Guards storms the ruins of Midenhall castle. It is the leader of most of the monsters there and is also responsible for the traitor's behaviour, being their master. When the traitor joins the monster's side, they fight alongside The Wrecktor and the other various monsters. However, the monsters and the traitor are all killed in battle by the soldiers and the Builder.

The Wrecktor is a monster in the series.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

 • In the original NES version of the game, Mace Masters only showed up as random encounters on the third floor of the Hall of Hargon. In the remakes, they can still be encountered there, but one also guards the Lightning staff in Lorasia Castle, which was previously guarded by the Whackolyte in the NES version. They are much stronger than whackolytes, making the staff more difficult to acquire in the remakes.

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]

Wrecktor appeared from the beginning of the game, this time actually being ranked below Whackolytes for the first time. They are able to cast Boom, Bounce, and Kazing, as well as being able to summon a swarm of bats when they are enraged. Starting with Version 5.3, Vicious whackolytes can be encountered in the Netherworld, their bat swarm becoming stronger and now having the ability to cast Kaboom.

Dragon Quest Builders 2[edit | edit source]

Wrecktors appear a total of three times in Dragon Quest Builders 2. They can be fought only one time.

Khrumbul-Dun[edit | edit source]

In Khrumbul-Dun, one cutscene shows two wrecktors overlooking the Khrumbul-Dun town, who are conspiring about when they should destroy the creations within.

Skelkatraz[edit | edit source]

On the prison island of Skelkatraz, there is a wrecktor in charge of punishing the prisoners. The Builder learns from this wrecktor that torches can set haystacks on fire, which engulfs and destroys nearby flammable blocks.

Moonbrooke[edit | edit source]

In Moonbrooke, The Wrecktor is a hidden antagonist that shows up towards the end of its story arc, when the Moonbrooke Brigade of Guards storms the ruins of Midenhall castle. It is the leader of most of the monsters there and is also responsible for the traitor's behaviour, being their master. When the traitor joins the monster's side, they fight alongside The Wrecktor and the other various monsters. However, the monsters and the traitor are all killed in battle by the soldiers and the Builder.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]

Wrecktor appears as an A-rank monster of the Demon family as part of the Halloween Treat Tussle event alongside Spooky Valencia on her banner. Starting with Version 4.0 of the game, it can be scouted from any banner, including the Regular SP Scout. The wrecktor could formerly be faced as a boss in the VS Wrecktor quest. It can participate in the Leery lantern, Blossom Hammerhood, and King Korol's Battle Roads as a party member.
