The '''drackmage''' is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}} that was introduced in {{DQ2}}.

Drackmages are green, forest-dwelling drackies with a bad habit of casting [[Kasap]] on adventurers. They keep themselves in midair by constantly flapping their wings.

Drackmage appears as an E-rank monster of the [[Demon family]]. It can be recruited from Chapter 3, Episode 2: Onward! and Chapter 7, Episode 1: A New Adventure and it can participate in the Battle Roads of [[Dracky]], [[Leery lout]], and [[Troll]] as a party member.

==Etymology==

* Drackmage is a portmanteau of Dracky and mage, which means 'magic user'; this species is the first in the line to use magic. Its other names, Magidrakee and WizDracky, also allude to this capacity.

* The Japanese name タホドラキー (tahodorakī) is actually a result of the limited Famicom/NES memory of the original ''Dragon Quest''. Due to this limited memory, not all the Japanese ''kana'' could be included, so Yujii Horii was required to alter タフドラキー (tafudorakī -- i.e. "tough-dracky") to タホドラキー, which could actually be spelled with the limited ''kana'' available.
