==Trivia== | |||
*In the original ''Dragon Quest'', the dread dragon was originally planned to be called {{translation|'''Dark dragon'''|ダークドラゴン,|Dākudoragon}}. However, due to the limited memory of the Famicom, not all Japanese kana could be used, including the katakana (ク, ''ku''), so the monster was named {{translation|'''Darth dragon'''|ダースドラゴン,|Dāsudoragon}} instead. This peculiar naming is referenced to in ''Dragon Quest X'', where its monster description states that dread dragons lay a clutch of a '''dozen''' eggs, but the first to hatch kills the rest of its siblings.<ref>[https://dragon-quest.jp/ten/monster/zukan/dra/56.php Dragon Quest X Strategy Guide - Monster Encyclopedia]</ref> | |||

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- In the original Dragon Quest, the dread dragon was originally planned to be called Dark dragon (ダークドラゴン,, Dākudoragon?). However, due to the limited memory of the Famicom, not all Japanese kana could be used, including the katakana (ク, ku), so the monster was named Darth dragon (ダースドラゴン,, Dāsudoragon?) instead. This peculiar naming is referenced to in Dragon Quest X, where its monster description states that dread dragons lay a clutch of a dozen eggs, but the first to hatch kills the rest of its siblings.[1]
