In {{III}}~{{VIII}}, Kasizzle was used as the English equivalent of Begiragon. Due to a set of new, fourth-tier spells being brought into the main series from the Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker spinoffs between the development and localization of {{IX}}~{{XI}}, giragrade became the most powerful wave of fire spell in {{Dragon Quest X}}. Due to the English root word of [[Sizz]] being unable to be further expanded upon as the Japanese gira was, the localization team opted to assign the new English name Kasizz to Begiragon in titles where all four tiers of gira spells appear, while Kasizzle was hence applied to Giragrade.
The spell ベギラマ ''Begirama'' was originally localised as Kasizzle, as it was the highest-tier spell of that line at one point. However, with later games, they added a higher-tier ギラグレイド ''Giragureido'', which ended up getting that naming instead.
As such, refer to [[Kasizz]] for games where it was about ''Begirama''.

Kasizzle is a spell in the Dragon Quest series.

Introduced in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, it is the final spell in the Sizz series, and immolates a group of enemies with a wave of ferocious hellfire.

Localization History[edit | edit source]

The spell ベギラマ Begirama was originally localised as Kasizzle, as it was the highest-tier spell of that line at one point. However, with later games, they added a higher-tier ギラグレイド Giragureido, which ended up getting that naming instead. As such, refer to Kasizz for games where it was about Begirama. (Also see Kasizz)

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]

Dancers can master the spell after investing 180 skill points into their Dance skill, while Death Masters can learn it by investing 180 skill points into their Reikan skill. MP cost is 24, range is 10 meters, and the initial damage calculation is (Magical Might - 400) x 430/599 +430~470 for a maximum of 860~900. Once the caster's Magical Might exceeds 1,000 via buffs, the calculation becomes (Magical Might - 999) /3 +860~900 for a limit of 1027~1067.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]

Veronica will master Kasizzle at level 64 and can cast the spell for 48 MP. Base damage is 308~340, incinerating foes with 632~664 damage at maximum once her Magical Might reaches 900.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit | edit source]

Kasizzle deals 166~183 base damage, 309~326 maximum damage and can be learned from:

Terry's Wonderland 3D & Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit | edit source]

Kasizzle costs 54 MP and deals a minimum of 199~220 damage. It will grow in power when the monster's Wisdom surpasses 500, capping at 3,999 for a maximum range of 665~735 damage.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3[edit | edit source]

Kasizzle has the same properties as it did in the earlier GBC remakes.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit | edit source]

Kasizzle costs 54 MP and is learned by the Agent Provocateur, Dragonlord, Perfect Speller, Polariser, Sizz Virtuoso, Wyrmhole Dragon talents. It bas a base power of 280 and will deal an average of 770 at 3,999 wisdom.

Dragon Quest Treasures[edit | edit source]

Kasizzle is learned by Cutie slimes, Drackolytes, Hardy hands, Loss leaders, Metal slimes, and Metal king slimes. It inflicts Light-element damage to enemies in a straight line originating at the caster's position, and costs 18 MP.

  • Treasures marks the first time in which Kasizzle is used as the localization of Begiragon since the addition of Giragrade, with all other titles using Kasizz.

Enemy versions[edit | edit source]

Callous casters will cremate the heroes for 45~55 damage, maintaining this temperature until VI, when the range was increased to 60~80 damage. In VIII the range was lowered to 48~64 damage in all versions of the game.
