The Cyclown is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. It is a blue, humanish elemental whose lower body is perpetually wrapped in a swirling whirlwind.
Characteristics
Cyclowns are blue humanoid creatures with cartoonish faces and two antennae on top of their heads. Their most notable feature is the cyclone that they ride around on, which completely obscures their lower body. They are elemental spirits associated with wind and they attack their foes with sharp, cutting gales. When a cyclown is defeated in Dragon Quest IX, their whirlwind will disappear, revealing that their lower bodies are scrawny.
Appearances
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
Although cyclowns do not make an appearance in the game as enemies, an image of a cyclown can be seen at the Ancient Fane in the PS1 version of the game, representing the element of wind.
