Characteristics edit
A light shield with a cat motif that can be equipped by characters who cannot carry heavier shields, such as female characters and youngsters.
- The original design from Dragon Quest VII is roughly in the shape of a large cat head, with round pink gems as the cat's eyes and metal studs where its ears and whiskers are located.
- The design from Dragon Quest VIII is a round buckler with a design of a cartoon cat in the very center. The pink section in the center has three cat paws, while the outside border is yellow with alternating cat paws and stylised cat heads. This design has been used for all other games.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past edit
The Kitty shield has a Defence bonus of +9, a Style bonus of +8, and can only be equipped by Maribel and Ruff. It can be purchased for 310 gold from L'Arca and Frobisher in the past, and sold for 155 gold. One can be found in a treasure chest on B1F of the Tunnel to the Abbey in the past. It has a 1⁄64 chance of being dropped by Fire fry and a 1⁄128 chance of being dropped by Small fry.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, a Kitty shield can be found in a treasure chest in the L'Arca Region in the past after crossing the bridge to the northeast.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined edit
The Kitty shield has a Defence bonus of +4, a Block Chance of 5%, and an Evasion Chance bonus of +8%. It can be equipped by Maribel and Ruff. It can be purchased for 310 gold from L'Arca and sold for 155 gold. One can be found at Precipice Pass. It can be dropped by Fire fry. Kitty shield is a 2♦ prize from the Lucky Panel at Pilgrim's Rest in the past and a 1♦ prize in the present.

The Kitty shield has a Defense bonus of +12 and can be equipped by Jessica and Angelo, as well as Red in the Nintendo 3DS version. One can be found in the Swordsman's Labyrinth in a treasure chest requiring the Thief's key to open. It has a 1⁄32 chance of being dropped by Berserker and a 1⁄128 chance of being dropped by Metal slime knight.
