Hussar (known as Hyuza in the fantranslation) is a character in Dragon Quest X. He is one of the most popular characters in the game, always present in the top three picks in all White Day contests since the game started.

He is a young wetling swordsman who grew up in an orphanage without any family on the Wena Islands.

Hussar is a party member in the Offline version of the game. He is a skilled swordsman who can wield both one-handed Swords and greatswords in battle, as well as Axes, and can equip Shields.

Appearance and Character[edit | edit source]

Hussar is a young wetling man with a toned muscular build, having the light blue skin, a dorsal fin on his back, and fin-like ears characteristic of his race, along with dark blue tattoos on both of his upper arms. He has indigo eyes and shaggy blond hair that reaches to his shoulders which he wears underneath a dark red bandana.

His outfit consists of an open purple vest with a brass clasp in the front and a cut-out in the back for his dorsal fin, white trousers with a brown leather belt tucked into leather boots, and a long black cloth wrap tied around his waist. On his back, he carries around a scabbard for his greatsword strapped across his chest with a green leather belt. He also wears two necklaces with dangling fangs and leather wristbands

Hussar has a serious personality and is a skilled swordsman who travels to different lands in order to make a name for himself. Despite his tough exterior, he has a kind heart.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]

Hussar appears as an A-rank character of the Hero family as part of the limited Dragon Quest X event, where he can be recruited during the event's story. He will join the player in Chapter 2, Episode 3 of the event quests entitled Reunion and he can be fully awakened by collecting Hussar Crystals, which can be acquired from The Recklessness of an Eternal Dream at levels 5, 9, and 13. Hussar can participate in Mjoll's Battle Road as a party member.
