Drackmages are green, forest-dwelling drackies with a bad habit of casting Kasap on adventurers and often appear in groups. They keep themselves in midair by constantly flapping their large pair of wings. It has a pair of antennae on its head, round feet, and displays a large pair of fangs in its smiling mouth.
Related to the dracky, these monsters have evolved a green colouration to match their woodland habitat. They remain constantly airborne, smoothly dodging attacks whole casting spells on their opponents.
Notable changes in the remake
There is a friendly drackmage living in Tryan Gully that talks to the party about Rhapthorne.
Drackmage appeared from the beginning of the game, once again having their familiar ability to cast Kasap on novice adventurers. It is possible to change the appearance of a Dracky monster companion to that of a drackmage with the use of a colour-changing ticket.
Enigmatic drackies whose origins are mired in even more mystery than their bat-like brethren. It's not even clear if they're called by their right name.

Drackmage appears as an E-rank monster of the Demon family. It can be scouted from Chapter 3, Episode 2: Onward! and Chapter 7, Episode 1: A New Adventure, as well as the Beginner and Intermediate stages of the Troll Super Training during Militant Mentor Mindini's Boot Camp. The drackmage can participate in the Battle Roads of Dracky and Leery lout, as well as Power Workout: Troll as a party member.
The Drackmage's English name is a portmanteau of Dracky and mage, which means 'magic user'; this species is the first in the line to use magic. Its older names, Magidrakee and WizDracky, also allude to this capacity.
The Japanese name タホドラキー (tahodorakī) is actually a result of the limited Famicom/NES memory of the original Dragon Quest. Due to this limited memory, not all the Japanese kana could be included, so Yuji Horii was required to alter タフドラキー (tafudorakī -- i.e. "tough-dracky") to タホドラキー, which could actually be spelled with the limited kana available. The drackmage's monster descriptions in several games even alludes to unusual origins of its name.
