Helichopter is a skill in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
This ability allows the user to damage a group of enemies by swinging wildly in a wide circular motion with a greatsword or other weapon.

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake[edit | edit source]
Helichopter costs 12 MP to use and inflicts around 90% damage to a single group of enemies. It can be learned by the Prince of Midenhall at level 38.
- When his HP is below 50% or he is under the effects of Focus Pocus, the Souped-Up Skill Backhander becomes available to use by holding down a button, depending on which version of the game is being played. The player must have the Soul Sigil in their possession to use it.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake[edit | edit source]
Helichopter costs 8 MP to use and inflicts 90~95% Physical-type damage to a single group of enemies. It can be learned by a Merchant starting at level 26 if their Wisdom exceeds 72 points. The ability can be used with any weapon equipped.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit | edit source]
Known as Twister Fists in this game, it costs 4 MP to use and deals damage to a single group of enemies. It is learned by reaching ★3 as a Pirate.
Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
Helichopter costs 4 MP to use and deals approximately 170% damage to all enemies in a radius of five meters around the user. It can be learned by a Warrior, Gladiator, Monster Wrangler, Demon Swordsman, and Guardian by investing 35 points into their Greatswords skill. Originally, it dealt the same amount of damage as a normal attack, until the damage was increased in Version 3.4. The damage can be increased further up to 18% by investing 180 skill points into the Greatswords skill.
Dragon Quest X Offline[edit | edit source]
Helichopter costs 4 MP to use and deals 168% normal attack damage to a single group of enemies. It can be learned by the Hero as a Warrior or Gladiator, and Hussar through the Greatswords panel in their Character Builders for 5 skill points, with Hussar already knowing the skill when he joins the party. The damage can be increased further with skill-up panels.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]
Helichopter costs 4 MP to use, dealing the same amount of damage as a normal attack to a single group of enemies. It can be learned by the Hero and Hendrik through the Greatswords panel in their Character Builders for 7 skill points.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]
Helichopter costs 7 MP to use and inflicts 110% potency physical damage to all enemies in a radius of 1 around the user. It is known naturally by Brownie, Green dragon, Hammerhood, Hoodlum, Mandrake mercenary, Troll, and Wooper trooper at level 1 and can be learned by Golem and Wild beast at level 16. Helichopter can also be taught to any non-Hero unit by using an ability scroll.

Helichopter is an axe skill that can be used by Crocodine and the Luminary Leader as a Warrior wielding an axe. It would deal physical Slash damage in a medium area of effect.

- One of the interpretations for Helichopter's Japanese name Bunmawashi (ぶんまわし) is a rare and archaic term for a compass used to draw circles. They were originally imported from Portugal.
