Magic beast hide is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a piece of sturdy leather taken from a beast or other monster that is used as a crafting material.

Magic beast hide can be dropped commonly by Gorerillas, Jumping jackals, Sileni, Orc kings, and Frou-frous, while being rarely dropped by Bullfinches, Diemons, Fat bats, Pink pongos, Great sabrecats, and Hellhounds. One piece of magic beast hide can be found in a barrel at Castle Trodain. It cannot be purchased anywhere, but can be sold for 70 gold each. Magic beast hide can be used in various recipes for the Alchemy Pot:

Magic beast hide can be commonly dropped by Badboons, Bewarewolves, Trigertaurs, Scarewolves, Big badboons, Badjas, Brainy badboons, Tearwolves, Moosifers, Dreadful drackals, Octagoons, Master moosifers, and Bling badgers, while they are dropped rarely by Boppin' badgers, Badger magers, and Splatterhorns.
