The Hocus chimaera is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, introduced in the original Dragon Quest. They look just like their normal kin, but are composed of warmer colors such as browns and oranges. True to their name, they have learned a wingfull of spells.

They bolster their fire-belching ability with knowledge of different spells depending on the game, including healing allies and debilitating their foes.

Hocus chimaera appears as a C-rank monster of the Nature family. It can learn be recruited from Chapters 9-2, 11-2, 11-3, 11-8, 12-8, and 15-3 of the main storyline. The hocus chimaera can participate in the Battle Roads of the Crabid, Skelegon, Kiefer, and Yangus as a party member.
