Iron mask
The iron mask is a recurring helmet in the Dragon Quest series. It is a mid-level helmet reserved for physically strong characters that provides a high amount of defence.

The iron mask has a Defence bonus of +25 and can only be equipped by the Hero, Ragnar, and the ninth chosen one. It can be bought in Zalenagrad, Aubout du Monde, Rosehill, Riverton, and the Azimuth for 3,500 gold and sold for 2,625.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride edit
The iron mask has a Defence bonus of +25. It can be purchased for 3,500 Gold Coins and sold for 2,625. The Hero, Harry, the Hero's Son, Tuppence, Killing machine, Bombboulder, Brownie, Revaulting horse, Moosifer, Hoodlum, Gigantes, Golem, Barbatos, Walking corpse, Hyperanemon, Samigina, Orc king, Magic marionette, Slime knight, Warhog, and Mandrake marshal all can equip it.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation edit
The iron mask has a Defence bonus of +25, a Style bonus of +10 (+35 after it has been upgraded), and can be equipped by the Hero, Carver, Amos, Terry, Lizzie, Goowain, and all other slime allies. It can be purchased for 3,500 gold at Clearvale, Sorceria, Arkbolt, Castle Swanstone, and Turnscote. It can be sold for 2,626 gold or 2,850 after it has been upgraded. Octavian pirates drop them 1⁄64 of the time.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past edit
The iron mask has a Defence bonus of +22, but reduces the wearer's Style by 10, and can be equipped by the Hero, Kiefer, and Aishe. It can be purchased from La Bravoure, the Temple Palace in the present, El Ciclo, Greenthumb Gardens during the second visit to the past, Providence, Nottagen, and Rucker for 3,500 gold and sold for 1,750 gold. Iron masks can also be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at the Casino.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined edit
The iron mask has a defence bonus of +25. It can only be equipped by the Hero and Aishe. It's purchase price is 2100 gold coins, and it's sale price is 1050 coins. The iron mask is purchasable in La Bravoure, in the Temple Palace, and in Greenthumb Gardens in the past. It can also be obtained on the Lucky Panel minigame in Pilgrim's Rest, in both the past and the present.

The iron mask has a Defence bonus of +25 and can be equipped by the Hero and Yangus. It can be purchased for 3,500 Gold in Argonia (only after the bazaar starts), Arcadia, Savella Cathedral, and the Holy Isle of Neos. An iron mask can be found on the Cape West of Pickham in a treasure chest that requires the magic key to open. It can also be dropped rarely by shadows.

The iron mask has a Defence bonus of +15. It can be purchased from the travelling merchant in Castle Avalonia in chapter 5 for 2,800 gold, and is occasionally dropped by restless armours.

The Iron mask is Treasure No. 156 in the Armour category and can be found on the Paternoggin. Its base value is 350,000 gold.
Dragon Quest Tact edit
The iron mask is a B-rank helmet that can be purchased up to five times monthly from the gold shop for 1,000 gold. The mask can also be acquired as a reward from completing the third stages of both Kon and Kiefer's Battle Roads. It has a DEF bonus of +8, can only be equipped by Attack and Defence units, and has three slots for Alchemy Effects.
