Aubout du Monde is a town in Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen.

Story[edit | edit source]

Maya and Meena Mahabala were born in Aubont du Monde, as was their father Mahabala, the famous alchemist who discovered the Secret of Evolution. Maya and Meena's house is there, and their father's secret alchemy laboratory is in its hidden basement.

Localism is apparently very strong in Aubout du Monde, as the inn will refuse to let the party pay for their lodgings if Maya or Meena are with them. The treacherous Balzack, if not a native of Aubout du Monde, at least lived there for a time while studying under the twins' father. The same can be said of Oojam, his loyal apprentice.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit | edit source]

The town is an early stop for the sisters after they leaving Laissez Fayre. Upon returning to their village, the sisters are informed that is Oojam seeking revenge as well. The sisters' pet dog, Puppadom, is being taken care of by the villagers while they are away.

Later when they return along with The Hero and company, Meena and Maya are clued in on how to find the Magic Key. Shortly before their return, a merchant who was responsible for running the Desert Bazaar took residency at the inn.

Upon defeating Marquis de Léon, Balzack and later Psaro the Manslayer, the sisters and the Hero visit Mahabala's grave.
