Oomphle is a support spell in the DQSeries introduced in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It is a sister spell to Oomph, and its effect varies depending on the game:
The spell Oomphle is a recurring spell in the DQSeries. It doubles the benefactor's Attack when cast unless noted otherwise below.
* In the Monsters: Joker subseries, it raises attack by one stage for the entire party.
* In Dragon Quest XI, it raises attack by two stages for one character.

Localization History
Localisation History
The Japanese spell Baikiruto has been used as the name for Oomph throughout the series history. The Monsters: Joker series of games introduced the Baixion spell, which would raise the attack of the entire party by one stage. However, starting with X, Baixion became a single-target spell that would raise a target's attack by one stage, while the old spell Baikiruto would raise a character's attack by two stages. In the English localization of Joker, Oomphle was used as the multitarget spell, while Oomph was kept as the single-target spell. In XI, Oomph was used for the spell Baixion, while Oomphle would now be used for Baikiruto. Tact complicated this further by using the name Partyboost for Baixion, while Oomph was used for Baikiruto once again.
The spells Oomph and Oomphle have had conflicted localizations throughout the different games they appeared in. For consistency, this page refers to the spell named バイシオン (Baishion) in Japanese. For the spell named バイキルト (Baikiruto) ' in Japanese, refer to Oomph.

The spell Oomphle is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series. It doubles the benefactor's Attack when cast unless noted otherwise below.

Localisation History[edit | edit source]

The spells Oomph and Oomphle have had conflicted localizations throughout the different games they appeared in. For consistency, this page refers to the spell named バイシオン (Baishion) in Japanese. For the spell named バイキルト (Baikiruto) ' in Japanese, refer to Oomph.

Summary of the different localizations of those two spells over the different games:

Game バイシオン (Baishion) バイキルト (Baikiruto)
Up to Dragon Quest IX N/A Oomph
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker Oomphle Oomph
Dragon Quest XI Oomph Oomphle
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Oomphle Oomph
Newer games where only Baikiruto appears
(Like Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake)
N/A Oomph

Additionally, for the case of Dragon Quest X which has had not got an official localization, we will take the same localization as Dragon Quest XI for these spells, for consistancy, as they work the same way in those two games.
