The Dragon scale, also known as Dragon's scale, is an accessory in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
A protective amulet made from the scale of a dragon and described as being about the size of a palm. In most games, it is light green in colour and is adorned with a string of beads and dragon fangs. In both VIII and IX, the scale is red instead. Starting with X, the lucky dragon's wing was introduced as a separate accessory that used the red colour scheme instead. It typically gives a small boost to the wearer's defence or other attributes. In games with Alchemy, it is used extensively as a crafting material, particularly for dragon-themed pieces of equipment.
