The Gold ring is a recurring accessory in the Dragon Quest series that first appeared in Dragon Quest VI. It provides a small boost to the wearer's Defence.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]
The Gold ring has a Defence, a Style bonus of +5, and can be equipped by the Hero, Milly, Ashlynn, Terry, and Lizzie. One can be found at the Gardsbane Tower and another at the Houses North of Arkbolt. It has a 1⁄64 chance of being dropped by Goodybags.

The Gold ring has a Defense bonus of +10 and can be equipped by all characters. It can be purchased in Argonia for 2,000 gold once the bazaar starts. Gold rings can also be dropped by Bloody hands, Dieablos, Ghouls, Gold golems, and Night emperors. One can be found on the world map near Pickham in a treasure chest requiring the Magic key and another can be found in Baccarat.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, gold rings can also be commonly dropped by Gold nugcats.

The recipe book Twenty-Four Carats of Class contains the recipe for the gold ring. It is received from a blacksmith in Hotto for accepting Quest #5: "Put a Ring on It", who wants to see the player create a gold ring +1 or better with the Fun-size Forge.

When the Stonecloud is first unlocked, the alchemist onboard will automatically give you the quick recipe for the gold ring as part of the tutorial for using the Alchemy Pot, while the classic recipe can be dropped rarely by Pink sanguinis.

The Gold ring has a Defence bonus of +3, reaching to a total of +18 once it has been fully enhanced. The ring can be dropped by Bodkin archers.

The Gold ring increases the Builder's HP by 10. There are three that can be found in the game.
- The first can be found in Chapter 2 in a treasure chest on top of the Tearwolf's Dojo on the western side of the Prickly Wilds.
- In Chapter 3, the gold ring is found in a treasure chest buried seven blocks north and thirty-three blocks east from the largest cactus in the Bleak and Burning Badlands.
- In Chapter 4, the gold ring is in a treasure chest hidden behind ash blocks inside the cave where the Diviner's altar was.

The Gold ring is Treasure No. 224 in the Armour 2 category. Its base value is 100,000 gold.
