Drake slimes are yellow slimes, but instead of beings shaped like a droplet they have small wings, a crest, and a tail meant to make them appear part-dragon.
Drake slimes are flying, flapping orange-coloured [[Slime family|slimes]], but instead of being shaped like the classic [[Slime]] silhouette droplet, they have small wings that allow them to whip through the air and strike, dragon shaped horns, and a small tail that almost makes them look like little yellow fledgling dragons.  


The dragon-half of the drake slime makes it stronger than most other slimes, granting it increased strength and mobility. They are also capable of breathing fire thanks to their draconic traits.
The draconic characteristics of this slime makes it stronger than most earthbound slimes, granting it increased strength and mobility, along with being able to unleash fiery breath against opponents. However, in some games, this also means they are vulnerable to dragon-slaying weapons and abilities, as well.

It is highly recommended to take them out first since their fire breath can damage the entire party. The drake slime's first and currently only appearance in the mainstream games. They appear along the latter portions of the game's beginning and can prove troublesome thanks to their habit of breathing fire; a group of drake slimes can prove deadly to a low-level party if they abuse their fire breath. The drake slime has the rare chance of dropping a DrakSlime Heart, allowing one party member to become a DrakSlime when it is taken to the [[Temple of Dharma]]


The drake slime can be found in the [[Marsh Cave]], the [[Deja]] region in the past, the [[Lake Altar Cave]] in the past, and the [[Dharma]] region in the past.

A trio of Drake slimes are fought alongside Numpton in the first battle at the Allblades Arena. It is highly recommended to take them out first since their fire breath can damage the entire party. Equipping your characters with a boomerang or whip will make quick work of them due to their low HP, allowing you to focus on Numpton more easily when he's on his own.

Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime[edit | edit source]

Swotsy, one of the Hero's close friends, is a Drake slime wearing aviator's goggles. The Slime, Peewee is also a Drake slime.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]

Drake slime appears as a B-rank monster of the Slime family as part of the "Slime Fest" event. It can be recruited from Chapter 2, Episode 5 of the event quests at any difficulty, as well as Hard Chapter 1, Episode 1: Use abilities! of the main storyline. The Drake slime can participate in the Battle Roads of the King bubble slime, Chocobo, and Dark Armour Spear Hyunckel as a party member.
