  • The Besu in the She-slime's Japanese name Slime besu (スライムべス, Suraimu besu) may be a corruption of the Hebrew letter Beth, the second in their alphabet. It is considered a doublet of the Greek letter beta (βῆτα), which is also the second letter of that alphabet. In the context of Dragon Quest, it is used to declare this monster "Slime B", the second version of the more common blue Slimes.
