Padfoot is an skill that lowers the chance of random encounters for a limited time. Much like in real life, thieves that use this technique will also be taken off guard when they are spotted.

Learned by thieves at level 17 in the 16-bit remake and all subsequent releases, dropping the encounter rate by 50% for 128 steps.

Torneko learns this skill at level 4 in the remakes, cutting encounters by 25% for 128 steps.
