Dodgy Dance is a skill in the series.

The skill increases the user's evasion by a substantial amount for a short amount of time.

Dodgy Dance can be learned by the Hero at level 13 if their Wisdom exceeds 38. It costs 5 MP to use and increases evasion to 50% for 3~5 turns.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]

Dodgy Dance can be learned by reaching rank 2 as a Dancer or rank 4 as a Martial Artist. When used, it boosts the user's evasion to 50% for 2~3 turns. It can also be used by Hellstalkers and Bronson.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]

Dodgy Dance is learned by reaching rank 5 of the Dancer vocation and or rank 3 as a Slime. It can also be used by Magic marionettes.

Dragon Quest Monsters[edit | edit source]

Known as SideStep in this game, it requires the monster to reach level 9 with 63 max HP and 54 AGL. It can be learned naturally by DanceVegi, MudDoll, PillowRat and Slabbit.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2[edit | edit source]

The requirement to learn SideStep are unchanged. It is naturally learned by the Inverzon, LandOwl and WildApe.

Dodgy Dance can no longer be learned from Bounty Hunter, and the point requirement for Speedster has changed. It can now be learned from:

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit | edit source]

Dodgy Dance costs just one MP and doubles evasion for 4~7 turns, stacking with the Ace Evader, Artful Dodger, Evasive Impulse, and Supreme Sidestepper traits, and is voided by the Dodge Denier trait. It is learned via the Altruist, Cutpurse, Fuzzy Thinker, Musclehead, Party Monster, Pop Idol, Rockin’ Roller, Speedster , Supreme Healer, and Vexologist talents.
