Branching, also known as Shears, is a skill that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest Monsters and Dragon Quest Monsters 2. It deals 1.5 times more damage to monsters of the Plant family and costs 3 MP to use. It likely influenced the creation of the Poplar Toppler skill in the main series and Nature Nerfer in the Monsters: Joker series.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest Monsters[edit | edit source]
Branching requires the monster to reach Level 12 with 62 max HP, 68 Attack, and 72 Agility. It can be learned naturally by BullBird, Droll, and MedusaEye.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2[edit | edit source]
The name of the skill was changed to Shears and it can also be learned by WarMantis in this game.
