Double Up is an ability in the Dragon Quest series. It has changed significantly throughout its appearances, but it always affects the potency of the user's attack.
Appearances
Dragon Quest VI
Double Up strikes first at 200% power, but the user suffers increased damage during the round. It is learned by Carver at level 14 and by Spot at level 16. Other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 3 of the Paladin vocation.
Dragon Quest VII
Localized as Berserker, the skill is learned by reaching rank 3 in the Paladin vocation.
Dragon Quest IX
This ability is learned with 22 skill points allocated into Guts skill. It increases attack by two stages, while lower defence by one stage. The bolstered attack state lasts 6~9 turns, and the crippled defence 7~10.
