Muster Extra Strength, also known as Super Muster Strength, is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It is a souped-up version of the regular Muster Strength that either gives a massive boost to the user's Tension or damage caused by their next physical attack.
Appearances
Dragon Quest X
Muster Extra Strength first appeared as an enemy-only skill that can be used by a variety of different monsters, such as Spiked hares, Abracadabradors, Hoodlums, Gold golems, and Togrus Maximus. It raises the user's Tension by 3-4 stages at once without failure, potentially being able to put them in a state of Super High Tension within a single turn.
- Starting with Version 2.0 of the game, it can also be learned by a Mischievous mole monster companion by investing 40 skill points into their Mole's Fighting Shout skill. In Version 5.2, a Brownie monster companion can also learn it by investing 40 skill points into their Tension King skill.
Dragon Quest XI
Muster Extra Strength returns to being an enemy-only skill that can be used by Vicious gold golems and Glacial golems, as well as Hunkorvus in the Definitive Edition of the game. The skill will triple the amount of damage caused by the user's next attack, since Tension does not exist in this game. When used, the in-game text states that the user "musters all of [their] strength!".

Muster Extra Strength is an enemy-only skill used by various monsters and bosses, including Living statues, Stone guardians, Cyclopses, Gigantes, Atlas, and Robbin' 'Ood. It raises the user's attack power by two stages.

Muster Extra Strength can be learned by Dark brownie at level 26 and costs 30 MP to use. When used, it doubles the user's physical potency and effects for a single turn. Debora can also learn the perk Towering Rage through Talent Blossoming, which will grant her the effects of Muster Extra Strength if she recovers HP with one of her abilities.
