Pink Typhoon is a skill in the series.

Characteristics edit

Pink Typhoon attacks by sending a pink whirlwind of flower petals at a group of enemies, inflicting wind-elemental damage, with the user themselves usually spinning their body, as well. In nearly all appearances, it is a skill used by female characters, with Dragon Quest X being a notable exception as it is a fan skill that can be used by characters of any gender.

Appearances edit

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King edit

Pink Typhoon can be learned by placing 88 skill points into Jessica's Sex Appeal skill. It deals around 70~80 Woosh-element damage to a group of enemies for 5 MP. Notably, Jessica one of the few mage-type characters that can utilise the element.

A sudden typhoon that rips enemies into ribbons.[1]

Dragon Quest X edit

Pink Typhoon can be learned by Martial Artists, Minstrels, Sages, Luminaries, Dancers, and Druids by allocating 120 points into the Fan skill. It costs 3 MP to use, has a charge time of 60 seconds, and inflicts 200% Wind damage to enemies within a radius of 8 meters around the user, having a chance to beguile them, as well. The chance to beguile is based on the user's Style, reaching to a total of 75%.

  • In the Offline version of the game, it can be learned by the Hero as a Martial Artist, Minstrel, Dancer, or Luminary and Fuura through the Fans panel in their character builder for 14 skill points. It is a secret skill for the Hero, requiring at least four of the surrounding panels to be unlocked first. Since it is a weapon skill, it can only be used if a fan is equipped. Mjoll can learn the skill through the Powerful skill in her character builder for 14 skill points, as well. She is able to use it regardless of what weapon she has equipped. The skill costs 25 Tension to use and inflicts Wind-element damage to all enemies based on the user's Attack and has a chance to beguile them, as well. The damage can be increased further through skill up panels.

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors edit

Known as Moulin Rage in this game, it is a Master Stroke that can be used by the Hero and Fleurette once she reaches level 30. When used, the player will be prompted to spin the Wiimote in a circle until the meter reaches 100, then thrusting. It costs 20 MP to use and inflicts damage to all enemies.

Trivia edit

  • Pink Typhoon's name may be a reference to the Japanese pop song "Pink Typhoon" released in 1979 by the duo Pink Lady. The song itself is a cover of the Village People's song "In the Navy", but with lyrics that have nothing to do with the original song.
