Backswing is a skill that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest Tact. It is one of Lt Goresby-Purrvis's signature abilities, delivering a long-range electrified sword slash with his katana that can stun enemies and pull them in closer.

Backswing is known naturally by Lt Goresby-Purrvis at level 1 and costs 33 MP to use. It has a range of three squares in front of him, inflicts 165% potency Zap-type physical damage to a single enemy, pulls them closer by one space and has a chance to stun them.
