Falcon Slash is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It attacks twice in one turn, each strike at 75% power in most instances.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

Falcon Slash was retroactively added to the 2024 remake, learned by the Hero as early as level 30 if his or her wisdom exceeds 117 points. Each slash deals 70% damage and are affected by Oomph and Egg On, and the skill costs 9 MP.

• The May 23rd, 2025 update patch has buffed Falcon Slash to deal 75% damage per strike

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation

In the original Super Famicom version, the damage was calculated with the user's Attack stat, rather than with their normal attack damage. It was changed in remake versions of the game to function the way it does in VIII and later, dealing two slashes at 75% total damage rather than lower the Attack stat before calculations are made. Falcon Slash is already known by Lizzie and Terry when they join the party, and is learned by Goowain at level 25. Other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 7 of the Warrior vocation.

It is used by the enemies Pesky jester, Jugular joker, Commander Brutus, Hacksaurus, Crayzee, Terry (boss), and Nokturnus.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

Falcon Slash is learned by reaching rank 6 of the Gladiator vocation in the PSX version.

• In the 3DS remake it is learned at rank 6 of the Gladiator, rank 2 of the Champion, rank 8 of the Dingbat, and rank 6 of the Slaughtomaton vocations. It also costs 2 MP to use, and as with the remake of VI it now uses the standard damage calculation set by VIII.

It is used by the enemies Whopper hopper and Silver scrapper.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Falcon Slash is a sword technique that both the the Hero and Angelo can learn. It requires 52 skill points by the Hero, and 40 skill points by Angelo, and damage calculation is set as two strikes at 3/4th strength for an approximate total of 150% damage for 0 MP. Equipping the Falcon blade or its upgrade will allow a character to slash four times at once.

Is is used by the enemy Hacksaurus and the recruitable Infamous Monster Hackzilla.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

This ability requires 2 MP to use and is learned with 58 skill points invested into Sword skill. If a Falcon blade or an Über falcon blade is equipped, Falcon slash will deal 4 successive hits each time it is used.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

The Hero will learn Falcon Slash for 16 points in the Swordmastery panel of his character builder, Erik with 18 points through the Guile panel of his character builder, and Hendrik through his Heroism panel for 16 skill points. It costs 4 MP to use, and hits for full damage on each strike with a higher chance for a Critical Hit.
