- Malroth: The Builder's best friend from the get-go. A mysterious man who can't build, but is excellent at destruction.
Major Figures edit
- Children of Hargon: A massive following of monsters under Hargon's rule that vow to destroy and banish those who oppose destruction. These monsters are present almost everywhere, except for the Isle of Awakening (for the most part), explorer's shores and the Angler's Isle. There is a hierarchy to this cult, where those in the lower tiers are unaware of what is going on at the top and only receive orders for work.
- Lulu: A fellow captive in the same ship as the Builder who washes up on the same island as they do.
- Rosie: The first person the Builder meets on the island of Furrowfield. Her infectious optimism helps bring back the old spirit of Furrowfield farm.
- Pastor Al: Full name Alakazam, he is a mysterious magus that comes to Furrowfield farm. He helps oversee the activities of Furrowfield.
- Babs: The first person the Builder meets on the island of Khrumbul-Dun. Devoted to bringing back the Golden Age.
- Goldirox: The long-lost guardian of Khrumbul-Dun. Was once a gold golem; and now he is stone.
- Warwick: The first person the Builder meets on the island of Moonbrooke. He is the captain of the Moonbrooke Brigade of Guards, being the Kingdom's finest swordsman, and is the most enthusiastic about winning the never-ending war.
- Anessa: The general of the Moonbrooke Brigade of Guards, being the Kingdom's greatest tactician, and stubbornly remains devoted to the followings of the Children.
- Hargon: The main overarching antagonist of Dragon Quest Builders 2.
- N04H: A friendly killing machine the Builder meets in Malhalla.
Other Characters edit
Isle of Awakening edit
Hairy Hermit edit
The Hairy Hermit oversees the Isle of Awakening, and entrusts its care to the Builder. He also acts as the game's Medal King.
Shane edit
Shane is a shaman working for the Children of Hargon that comes to the Isle of Awakening one day along with two prestidigitators, overseeing the construction of the great pyramid in the Scarlet Sands. They leave promptly, seemingly being "cool" with its construction.
However, they come back not so long afterwards with a ship bursting at the seams with monsters, that they unleash on the residents. This chain of events leads to Malroth and the Builder ending up in Skelkatraz.
Furrowfield edit
Perry edit
Perry is a young, timid farmer that Rosie had dragged along to Furrowfield farm in hopes of bringing back its old spirit. He is cowardly, but passionate and caring.
Bonanzo edit
Bonanzo is an older, more boisterous farmer that Rosie had dragged over along with Perry. He is loud and proud, and wishes to become the future mayor of the farm. He has an impressive thick, bushy beard.
Britney edit
Britney is a young bubbly, cheerful girl who speaks in modern slang and is willing to help defend the farm from monsters.
Wrigley edit
A wiggly, the last of their kind. He was hiding in a burrow when the Builder finds and saves him from a monster attack, and brings him back to the farm. He is crucial in helping the Builder revive the spirit of Furrowfield.
Furrowfield Retriever edit
A dog! Using Ra's Mirror on her will reveal that she seems to be the long-lost Princess of Moonbrooke.
Clayton edit
Clayton is a farmer born to tend to the fields, but denies his blood-borne capabilities to instead follow the Children's teachings.
Saffron edit
Lillian's older sister, Saffron, is a shy girl who enjoys cooking, but her spirits were shot down when the Children banished the two of them for it.
Lillian edit
Saffron's younger sister, Lillian, is a not-so-shy girl who also enjoys cooking, whose spirits were also not shot down.
Ghostly Guest edit
The ghostly guest is a deceased pumpkin farmer of long past, and he looks over the Ruined Church. He guides the Builder to his secret stash of seeds.
Prestidigitators (monster type) edit
There are several prestidigitators living in Pastor Al's cabin, that take care of it while he is at the Farm. After the Builder repairs the water channels nearby, they relent and give the Builder the Bottomless Pot that Pastor Al had sent them to get.
Fat Rats (monster type) edit
There are several fat rats living on the island, spread around everywhere. Some elders can be found on the Fat Rat Chromatic Cay. Some fat rats give pointers to the Builder about where to go, and some have side-quests for the Builder denoted by a floating hammer symbol above their heads.
A long time ago, the fat rats, the bodkin archers, the humans and the wigglies made a deal to do no harm to each-other and protect the island.
Bodkin Archers (monster type) edit
There are several bodkin archers living on the island, mostly congregated in the Furrowfield Forests. There is one bodkin archer on the Bodkin Archer Chromatic Cay, who is stranded there. They tell the Builder that it has been infested with bodkin bowyers and the Builder then promptly gets rid of them.
Wigglies (monster type) edit
Wigglies are known for their magical soil-cleansing properties, being able to purify spoiled soil and turn it into regular earth.
There is only one wiggly on the island. All other wigglies have been banished (implied to have died) and Wrigley is the last of their kind.
Unnamed slime edit
A friendly slime is seen at the altar/grave inside the caves of the Human Chromatic Cay. It mentions that ever since the elder human guardian passed away, it took on the responsibility of guarding the coralily seeds behind the waterfall until another human arrived to collect them and save Furrowfield.
Brainy Badboon edit
A huge, ugly brainy badboon that is the main overseer of the island. Has a lack of temper and enjoys eating giant bananas, which ultimately leads to its downfall. It drops the leaf of life.
Khrumbul-Dun edit
Den edit
Babs' father, Den, is a loving and doting father that doubles as the best bartender of Khrumbul-Dun. He, alongside Babs' mother, ran a family bar, that was shut down prior to the Builder's arrival due to the Children's decree.
Dougie edit
Dougie is a miner that suffers from intense achluophobia (an intense fear of darkness) and, initially, "monsterphobia". However, after Babs is turned into a statue, he pulls himself together, guiding the Builder deep into the extremely dark and scary mines and also eventually helping the Builder fight off monsters.
Digby edit
Digby is a miner that suffers from intense claustrophobia that prevents him from going into the mines. However, after Babs is turned into a statue, he also pulls himself together and fights alongside the Builder.
Magrog edit
Magrog is a skilled blacksmith that loves what he does. He, along with Dougie, Digby and various other miners, all compete for Babs' favour.
Ordelia edit
Ordelia is an elderly lady who spent most of her time in the caves. However, when the Builder rescues her, she turns a new leaf and becomes a dancer.
Serge edit
Serge is a male villager "in touch with [his] feminine side". He eventually becomes a dancer, albeit after the events of Khrumbul-Dun.
Madusa edit
The Madusa is the main antagonist of Khrumbul-Dun, turning Babs into a stone statue during the events of the game. She turned evil long ago when she was trying to get Goldirox's favour but his shine attracted so many other maidens she became jealous and turned him into stone, before hiding away in the caverns below the surface. Upon death, she drops the Heartstone she stole from Goldirox.
Skelkatraz edit
Wrecktor (1) edit
The monster on the island responsible for overseeing the labour of the prisoners; for the Builder, it forces them to plant cabbage seeds and then destroy the field after many days of growth. It introduces the player to the mechanic where lighting a haystack with a torch will burn up any flammable objects around it.
Molly edit
Molly has been on the island for a long, long time now, and was put there because she had attempted to befrend monsters (which was forbidden by the Children). She is the elder of the island and introduces the player to the monster taming mechanic, and helps them escape from the island.
Slime edit
Hammerhood edit
Walking Corpse edit
Inmate XXXX (PLACEHOLDER) edit
Moonbrooke (Island) edit
King edit
The King of Moonbrooke. Has many gaps in his memory but he is still a wise man that the soldiers follow.
Gerome edit
Gerome is a loyal old guard that has stood by the King's side for many a year, alongside the elder Jeremiah. However, their closeness to the King should not be mistaken for that of royal guards or the roles of Anessa and Warwick, for they are more accurately described as old friends.
Zara edit
Zara is the Captain of the Royal Guard, and seems to be rather close with Anessa. She lead most of the soldiers to safety after the attack on Moonbrooke kingdom and came back at the first ring of the Builder's Bell with some of them in tow.
Jeremiah edit
Jeremiah is an elder that has stood alongside the King for a long time, alongside the soldier Gerome. On the request of Anessa, he used the mod rod on himself to turn into a slime and climb the ranks of the monsters (specifically, that of the Hair Force) for years, and assisting the Builder in infiltrating their ranks later on. He is also the slime that saved the lives of the Builder, Malroth, Anessa and Warwick at Moonahan. Due to parading around as a slime for so long, the slime way of talking (e.g. saying "goo" instead of "go") has stuck with him even in human form, which he has to make a constant effort not to incorporate.
Haydin edit
Haydin is a bard that the Hair Force captured on their ship. He is freed when the Builder, Malroth, Anessa and Jeremiah infiltrate the Hair Force's ship, and exchange for his useful information about the monsters he is able to tag along with them, going undercover as a monster alongside the rest of them with the use of the mod rod.
