Stage 2 had a Phantom Fencer as its representative. Its arena was small and square-shaped, with an inner square island in the middle surrounded by water on all sides. Stage 3 had a War Gryphon as its representative. Its arena was a medium-sized square but was sectioned off so that the only playable area was a narrow rectangular strip of flat ground in a portrait direction with water on both sides. Its special rules were that claws and whips dealt -50% damage. Skeletons and brownies spawned in with spinning blades around them.
The leaderboard was initially taken down due to cheating and returned on May 22 6:00 AM (UTC). False positives were eventually added back. The leaderboard was then taken down once more after the gauntlet ended to calculate final rankings, and rankings and rewards were given after three hours (on June 9 2026 2:59 AM UTC).
In Season 1, the Legend rank was given only to the top 100 Master class players, with the top three each getting their own respective title instead (Legend of Legends 3/2 and Legend of Legends). Each title gives 700 Gauntlet tokens, with no additional Master tokens given for Legend titles. Those in Master and Legend ranks received their 700 tokens at the end of ranking calculations.
The event begins with goddess Aldona calling out to the player in the form of a bright white fairy in a backdrop of blackness, telling them that goddess Nornea had been singing [the player's] praises. She is hoping that the player can help restore the important adventure log records for the world of Dragon Quest, fearing that the world would fade into oblivion. She tasks the player to figure out what is most important in the world and restore those records of them to the adventure log to save the world.
A Wandering Swordsman finds the protagonist, Nina, Goopy and Roly newly conscious in Tantegel Moor. Before entering the rift there, Nina asks if the protagonist had heard a lady speak in their dreams. Roly confirms that there was a voice that spoke of an adventure log and Goopy comments that it reminded them of the protagonist's adventure log, to which Roly concurs, and then he notices the protagonist's Adventure Log S begin to shift shape. It turns from blue to red with an Erdrick logo on it, and Nina observes that it does indeed have blank sections in it. Roly hypothesises that it has become a proxy for the world's own adventure log.
Goopy seems unwell and the wandering swordsman explains that it is likely the work of the Dragonlord, as monsters have been driven to savage fury ever since his reign, and that rumour has it that Alefgard has been cursed. The swordsman then tells the party that there is a man who knows curses in town, and leads them there. The soldier is injured there and they make their way to Tantegel together, first bringing aid to the soldier before the soldier brings them to the curse researcher, who takes care of Goopy for a while. They go to Tantegel Castle for an audience with the King of Tantegel, who commends them for their efforts and directs them to the important relics of the land, first showing them to Erdrick's Hollow. There, they find a large tablet which reads:
"I am Erdrick. Heed me well, bearer of my blood, heir to my destiny. If you would reach the evil island seen from Tantegel's shore, you will require the three sacred artefacts. Gather them, and you may yet cross to that accursed isle, and destroy the source of all evil, as I too did, so long ago. Before my passing, I entrusted the three objects to three great sages. If the fates have been kind, their descendants guard them still. When evil rules the ill-starred isle once more... ...Gather the hallowed triad, and strike a blow for the cause of light."
The adventure log reacts to this information, and Aldona praises the party for finding something important. She then notes that this gravestone must have been intended for the Hero of this world. The boon "Erdrick's Tablet" is then added to the Event Skills.
Game
Description
Increases resistance to damage.
A slime hurries by, and Nina theorises that the light in the cave is protecting them from harm, as they have not been attacked yet. She then figures that perhaps bringing Goopy over to the cave will cure the pink slime of the curse. After the adventure log shines on Goopy, the pink slime is cured of the affliction, to the curse researcher's surprise. They then return to Tantegel Castle for more direction, and find that Princess Gwaelin is missing, so they join the search party who is looking for her. They head to Quagmire Cave, fight a Green Dragon, and find the princess ahead of them behind a locked door. The princess faints and they all return to the castle. When she comes to, the party has an audience with the King and the Princess, and the former directs them to the Sage of Rain with a letter.
Clearing the Grave of Galen rift (accessible through Galen by unlocking two doors and tapping on a flight of stairs) unlocks the Lyre of Ire, which the adventure log reacts to. Nina senses that it is too dangerous to take, as its sound attracted monsters as soon as the protagonist bumped into it, so they leave it at the rift.
Unlocking a door in Tantegel reveals a Holy Water vendor, who unfortunately has run out of holy water. Nonetheless, the adventure log reacts to her words, and provides the player with the Holy Water blessing. This blessing had a maximum level of 1 before Chapter 2 release.

Upon talking to a certain NPC, a stairwell will be unlocked in Tantegel Castle. Tapping on it will unlock an interaction with an elderly man in black, with roughly the same dialogue as the Sage of Rain, and the player receives the Sunstone. The man tells the protagonist that he is the Sage of the Sun and that he knows of their interaction with the Sage of Rain before bidding them farewell, but not before the protagonist hands back the Sunstone. The player then receives the event skill boon Sunstone.

The Wandering Warrior soldier that has been seen occasionally in the story reveals that the restless armour haunting Great Quagmire was actually his brother who had donned a set of cursed armour that the Warrior had purchased from a wandering trader and given him, and he immediately began unleashing pure carnage in his wake. He later learned that the wandering trader was a minion of the Dragonlord in disguise. The party swears to avenge him in the Warrior's stead and the warrior directs them to the correct place.
