Claw Slash is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It is an enemy-only attack in various games where the monster rips and tears into a character with their razor-sharp claws or talons, dealing 125% damage compared to a normal attack.

Dragon Quest V[edit | edit source]
Claw Slash makes its first appearance and can be used by Great sabrecats, Hellions, Ice-breakers, Doom sluggers, and Mermen.
Dragon Quest VI[edit | edit source]
Claw Slash can be used by Jumping jackals, Tiger jackals, Grrrgoyle, and Mortamor's left hand during the final battle.
Dragon Quest VII[edit | edit source]
Claw Slash can be used by Anarchaeopteryxes, Preying mantises, Slaying mantises, Oligarchaeopteryxes, Monarchaeopteryxes, Compos mantises, Stripes, and Putric Stinkenheimer.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, it can also be used by Bewarewolves, Scarewolves, and Tearwolves.
Dragon Quest VIII[edit | edit source]
Claw Slash can be used by Great sabrecats, Jackal rippers, Jumping jackals, Mermen, Merkings, Geyzer, and Geyzer in Memoriam.
Dragon Quest IX[edit | edit source]
Claw Slash can be used by Manguinis, Drakularges, King crabs, Drakulards, Alphyns, Drakulords, Grand Lizzier, Greygnarl during the first battle against him, Barbarus, Nemean, and both Mortamor's left and right claws.
Dragon Quest X[edit | edit source]
Claw Slash can be used by various monsters, including Platypunks, Drooling ghouls, Gryphons, and Jamirus. Instead of dealing a higher amount of damage to a single enemy, it delivers two swipes in quick succession.
