The Blade of Ultimate Power is a skill in the series.

It is the ultimate sword ability, dealing a high amount of non-elemental damage to a single enemy.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]

In the original Sony PlayStation version, UltraHit can be learned by any character who reaches rank 8 of the Godhand class. It will deal 600~700 non-elemental damage to a single enemy, minus their Defence value, for 20 MP. This means that the skill is only effective against Metaly and MetalyS, as other metal slimes have Defence exceeding 700.
- In the Nintendo 3DS and smartphone versions, Blade of Ultimate Power takes on different properties; it now deals 500~600 damage that ignores Defence and any other damage reduction factors such as Defending Champion, making it useful for hunting metal slimes. The damage will also increase by 50% if the user is equipped with a weapon that is more effective against certain monsters, such as the Dragonsbane. The Hero will display a unique animation when using the skill. Nut knights, The Mighty Pip, and Kernel colonels will try using it in battle, but kernel colonels are the only ones with enough MP to actually use the skill.
Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
Starting with Version 4.5, Blade of Ultimate Power can be learned by investing 200 skill points into the One-Handed Swords skill. It inflicts 480% damage to a single enemy, costs 8 MP to use, and has a charge time of 120 seconds. The attribute is dependent on the user's weapon.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]
Blade of Ultimate Power is a secret skill that can be learned by the Hero for 36 skill points through the Swordmastery panel in his Character Builder after it expands in act two. It requires all four of the surrounding panels to be unlocked first and is located at the very top of his Character Builder. It costs 48 MP to use, and will deal up to 680~720 non-elemental damage to one enemy. Unlike previous versions, the skill does not work on metal slimes but it can be used with two swords for extra damage. The skill can also be used by Mordegon, Lord of Shadows in the first boss battle against him.
- In the 2D mode of the game, the skill's animation is identical to the original one from the Sony PlayStation version of Dragon Quest VII.
Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road II Legend[edit | edit source]
Blade of Ultimate Power appears as Auster's special finisher when the Water Mark SP card or the Warriors of Eden Legend SP card is scanned. When used, Auster is summoned from the Shrine of Mysteries. He then uses his Water Mark to call forth the Okeanos Sword from the ocean. Auster leaps to grab it, then charges it with green energy and delivers a powerful slash.
Dragon Quest Heroes II[edit | edit source]
Blade of Ultimate Power returns after a long absence as Cesar's Coup de Grâce when he is in a state of High Tension. The animation is very similar to the one in the Monster Battle Road games, although Cesar simply plants his greatsword into the ground and charges it with green energy before leaping into the air and performing a powerful slash.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]
Known by its original Japanese name here, Ultima Sword can be learned by Anlucia the Luminary at level 54 and costs 70 MP to use. It inflicts 380% potency surehit physical damage to a single enemy. Upgrading the ability increases its damage and reduces the amount of MP it costs to use.

Dragon Quest Treasures[edit | edit source]
Red giants have a chance to know Blade of Ultimate Power when they are scouted. It damages all surrounding foes for Light-element slashing damage for 12 MP.
