This is the least revealing of Jessica's costumes. She has a white dress shirt with a red tie. Her skirt is long and black. | ||

Jessica also wears silver wristbands, bands on her upper arms, and anklets. Her hair is worn in white hairbands and her shoes are changed to sandals. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the costume was made less revealing by making the skirt fuller. | ||

| || Bunny Costume || | | || Bunny Costume || Jessica will wear this outfit if she is equipped with the Bunny suit, Bunny ears, and Fishnet stockings at the same time, giving her the appearance of a bunny girl. If Jessica has only one or two of the garments equipped, King Trode will demand that the player finish the set on the Battle Records screen. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the outfit was almost completely changed. Instead of the black leotard, Jessica wears a black midriff-baring bandeau top and black short shorts, both with white trim. | ||

It is a blue and gold bikini worn with a small wrap around the waist. Jessica also wears a blue and gold choker around her neck. The gold portions of the bikini have rune-like embellishments. She wears blue and gold sandals with anklets in the same style as the bikini. Jessica also wears hairbands and earrings with dangling yellow jewels. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the bikini was made less revealing by adding a blue skirt underneath the wrap. | ||

It consists of a black and white lacy bustier with most of the front exposed. The part covering her rear is shaped like a heart. The front and sides are held together with white lacings. She wears black sheer stockings, black garters and anklets with white lace in the same style as the bustier, and black slippers. Her choker and hairbands are also black with white lace. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the outfit was made less revealing by covering her midsection and bust with sheer black cloth. | ||

She has a purple, low-cut bustier that is tied off to a choker, both with golden wing embellishments. The bustier has gold lacings on the front, sides, and the back. A pleated gold miniskirt is attached to the bustier and she wears thigh-high white stockings held up with purple garters. Her shoes are changed to purple slippers. She also wears white opera-length gloves with purple and gold armbands at the top and gold wristbands. On the back of the bustier, there is a pair of small, decorative white wings. Her hair is worn in purple hairbands with ribbons and gold wing decorations. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the outfit is made less revealing by covering up her navel and her thighs. | ||

Rosalind rewards the Luminary with a Goddess whip as thanks. Jessica initially thinks her mother is trying to convince her to return home and abandon her revenge binge, but then decides to spend time with her in the chateaux. | |||

Jessica Albert is a character in the Dragon Quest series that appears as a playable party member in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. She later appeared in Itadaki Street Special, Fortune Street and is one of thirteen playable characters in Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below. Jessica is also one of the original leader characters in Dragon Quest Rivals and makes an appearance as a special hero character in Dragon Quest Tact.
A girl from a good home, Jessica comes from a wealthy family in the small village of Alexandria. However, contrary to her upbringing, she is unskilled in the social niceties and expected behaviour of her environment, which often leads to conflict with her mother. She joins up with the Hero for personal reasons, strengthening the party with her flair for offensive magic. A definite firebrand, Jessica is nothing like her mother, who expects her to be prim and proper in public.
Magic is far from Jessica's only strength; she is also an outstanding fighter. Whips, staves, knives, and later swords are her weapons of choice.
Appearance and personality[edit | edit source]
Jessica is a beautiful young woman with a slender but curvaceous figure. Her red hair is tied in long pigtails with a few strands of it hanging over her face and she wears dangling blue earrings. She wears a low-cut, shoulderless purple blouse with sleeves starting at the upper part of her arm. She has a yellow underbust corset with lacings in the front around her stomach and waist which has a auburn belt around it that a small pouch hangs from. She has a long, maroon colored skirt that has a white frill at the bottom. Under the skirt, she has brownish-black tights and pointed, brown shoes, in which the tights are tucked into.
Jessica possess a sharp tongue, and has a knack for seeing through people. She is very stubborn and at times aggressive, though her intellect keeps her from making rash decisions. This same wisdom gives her immense skill in the magical arts, learning several spells after only studying for a short period. Due to recent events afflicting the Albert family, Jessica has a slight difficulty in trusting others. This is reflected in the time it takes for her to properly join with the Hero and Yangus, and the prolonged friction between herself and Angelo. Once a person has proven their sincerity, however, Jessica becomes much more jovial and approachable around them. Coming from old money, Jessica carries an upper-class air about herself and occasionally looks down her nose at people without realizing it.

Outfits[edit | edit source]
Jessica's appearance changes when she equips certain armor, such as:
| Appearance | Outfit Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Jessica's outfit | This is the outfit Jessica is first seen in when the party meets her at the Tower of Alexandra, a prim piece that alludes to the Albert family's social standing. This is the least revealing of Jessica's costumes. She has a white dress shirt with a red tie. Her skirt is long and black. | |
| Jessica's default clothing | This is Jessica's regular clothing, first donned after she vacates the Albert mansion. | |
| Dancer's costume | This outfit consists of a white brassiere tied to a silver choker with strings, as well as white string bikini bottoms covered by a reddish-orange wrap skirt with yellow triangles near the hem. Jessica also wears silver wristbands, bands on her upper arms, and anklets. Her hair is worn in white hairbands and her shoes are changed to sandals. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the costume was made less revealing by making the skirt fuller. | |
| Bunny Costume | Jessica will wear this outfit if she is equipped with the Bunny suit, Bunny ears, and Fishnet stockings at the same time, giving her the appearance of a bunny girl. | |
| Magic bikini | This outfit helps protect Jessica against enemy spells. | |
| Dangerous bustier | This outfit is the least protective of Jessica's clothing, only serving as an alchemy ingredient to create the Divine bustier. | |
| Divine bustier | One of Jessica's most protective outfits, granting a high Defence bonus and increasing her evasion. |
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit | edit source]
On April 15, 2011, Jessica began appearing as a special guest at the Quester's Rest in Stornway. This could be downloaded through the DQVC using Nintendo's Wi-Fi channel when it was still available. When spoken to, she will give the Hero different pieces of her outfit if certain conditions are fulfilled.
- Jessica's frock - Received when talking to her.
- Jess's tresses - Received when it is the player's birthday.
- Posh pumps - Received after the inn is fully expanded.
The player will receive the special Accolade Highly Strung Heiress if the Hero wears all of the parts of Jessica's costume. However, it is only possible for a female Hero to earn this Accolade as certain parts of Jessica's costume are female-only.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]
Jessica appears in the Altar of the Cursed King at the Echo Chamber in Tickington; after the issue with Tom and Saber has been wrapped up in Chateau Felix, Tom will give the Luminary a pastword to Chateau Felix - Dusk. There, the Luminary finds out that Jessica had recently lost her personality, becoming a docile wallflower that feels homesick and sent word for Rosalind to rendezvous with her at the zoo. When the Luminary speaks with her mother, she explains that this is nothing like the daughter she knows and asks for help in restoring her usual bullheadedness. Rosalind also mentions that she's heard of certain books that can change a person's character, and suggests following any leads on those.
The player can find - spread throughout the altars of Tickington - four books: The Champion's Code, Guns'n'Buns, Look, No Pants!, and The Girl's Own Annual. Jessica can freely switch between personalities by reading these as long as the player does not give her the fourth book, which is the right one to set her back in her ways. Rosalind rewards the Luminary with a Goddess whip as thanks. Jessica initially thinks her mother is trying to convince her to return home and abandon her revenge binge, but then decides to spend time with her in the chateaux.
"Tee hee hee! You really are a marvel, Mother! I promise I'll never wander off on any silly old adventures again! I couldn't bear to be away from you for even a second!"
—Jessica's new docile personality
"Cor blimey! Mum! Wotchoo doin' 'ere, eh? If yer worried about me avengin' Alistair, don't be—I'm all set to chop 'ooever got 'im clean in two wiv me axe! 'Oo's this bloke you've brought wiv you, anyway? 'E don't look like much. An' wot's 'e got 'is 'air parted like Angelo's for? Don't 'e know not to take fashion tips off that lemon?
'Oo are you? You don't look like much. An' wot've you got yer 'air parted like Angelo's for? Don't you know not to take fashion tips off that lemon? But never mind all that rubbish—I need to get out there an' avenge me bruvver's death! I'm all set to chop 'ooever got 'im clean in two wiv me axe! "
—After being given The Champion's Code; speaking to Rosalind and then the Luminary directly
"Oh, I'm just fine Mother! But I'm not so sure about you! I mean, what are you wearing!? Wouldn't you feel so much more liberated if you shed a few layers?...Oh! Where did this handsome young man come from? You're lovely, aren't you? Tell me...have you ever had a puff-puff before?"
—After reading Guns'n'Buns, and also the same lines when spoken to directly
"Hi everyone, and welcome to Jessica's Giggle-a-Minute Gag-O-Rama! Are you ready for a real rib-tickler? What did Alistair like to wear when he had a bad hair day? Wait for it... ...A brotherhood, of course! ...Get it? 'Brotherhood'! My brother—wearing a hood! Ha ha ha!
Hi everyone, and welcome to Jessica's Giggle-a-Minute Gag-O-Rama! Are you ready for a real rib-tickler? Why does my sexy, sultry alter-ego get tired so easily? ...Because she'll puff-puff at the drop of a hat! Ha ha! Get it? She's so free and easy with the puff-puffs, she gets puffed out all the time! Comic genius, I'm sure you'll agree. "
—After reading Look, No Pants!; speaking to Rosalind and then to the Luminary directly
"Mother! What are you doing here!? Wait, I know...You're here to tell me to stop thinking about avenging Alistair, aren't you? Well, forget it! I'm not giving up, and I'm not going home with you, and that's the end of it! I will have my revenge! It's my destiny, and no one can stop me! "
—After reading The Girl's Own Annual
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit | edit source]
Jessica appears as one of the playable characters in the game alongside Yangus. The two appear in the elven kingdom of Sylvea, saving Luceus, Aurora, and their companions from a large group of monsters with Jessica's Magic Burst. Jessica states that a friend of theirs, later revealed to be the Godbird Empyrea, asked them to investigate the reason why monsters are acting so strangely. She can cast the Crack series of spells, uses Whips as her weapon of choice, and her Coup de Grâce is Magic Burst. Jessica is also able to use Hustle Dance, making her the only source of group healing in the first game.

Dragon Quest Heroes II[edit | edit source]
Jessica reappears in Heroes 2 as the second-to-last set of otherworldly travelers the band of heroes encounter, alongside Angelo. The duo are first encountered in the frigid landscape of of Mt. Neverest where Jessica saves the freezing heroes from a hoard of Powie yowies with her signature Magic Burst. Grateful for their aide but also pressed for time, the party offers the two to join them, which Jessica promptly accepts due to the alternative option leaving her alone with Angelo. Unlike the previous title, where the Godbird requested Jessica's aide prior to transporting her to another land, she and Angelo were not aware of their worldly displacement until consulting with the band of heroes.
In game Jessica's weapon of choice is once again the Whips. Similar to other returning characters, her core moves are mostly unchanged and she still possesses her old abilities from the first game. In addition to her per-existing arsenal, Jessica is able to use the Rubblerouser line of spells, alongside with a few new moves to inflict debuffs on foes such as Starstrike and Deceleratle.

Etymology[edit | edit source]
- Jessica is a female given name of Hebrew origin that means foresighted or to see before.
- Albert is the English derivative of the Germanic Adalbert, which means "noble" as well as "bright" as in cleverness. These meanings reflect Jessica's position in high society and her innate intelligence.
Other Languages[edit | edit source]
Her brother, Alistair, also calls her "Jess" as an affectionate nickname. The two kids, Bangerz and Mash, call her "sir" when addressing her; in the Spanish translation, they call her "señora".
